How to chase unpaid invoices: a reminder schedule and e-mail templates

Should sales commissions be paid on orders or on paid invoices?
Both are common. Paying on orders rewards the sale quickly; paying on paid invoices means you never pay commission on money you have not received. Many companies use paid invoices, sometimes with a different rate for new and existing customers.
When should I chase an unpaid invoice?
Start with a friendly reminder a few days after the due date, then a firmer one about two weeks later, then a formal notice. Between businesses in the EU you can also claim late payment interest and a fixed 40 € recovery compensation per invoice.
Can Tavalle calculate commissions and send payment reminders?
Yes. Tavalle calculates each sales rep’s commission from paid invoices, with pending, payable and paid status, and sends automatic payment reminders for overdue invoices.
