FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is a signed quote binding?

Yes. Once the customer signs it, a quote is a contract: the price, the work and the conditions are fixed. Any extra work should be agreed in writing, for example with an additional quote, before it is invoiced.

Is a quote compulsory?

In France some trades must give a written quote by law, for example repair and maintenance work in buildings above a certain amount, home services above a certain monthly amount, and removals. In other cases it is not compulsory, but it is your proof of what was agreed and makes the invoice easy to write.

How do I go from a quote to the invoice?

Once the quote is accepted, you invoice any deposit, then the final invoice deducts the deposits already paid and adds any agreed extra work. In Tavalle an accepted quote becomes an order, and the order’s invoices and payment schedule follow from it.
